Lisa Priebe, BSc MA
Registered Provisional Psychologist Lisa works from a Humanistic perspective that views all individuals as unique, full of potential, and deserving of care and respect. Combining this view with the mind/body approach to therapy has lead Lisa to integrate the Eastern philosophy of Mindfulness into each counselling session. Through mindfulness based therapy the client learns to focus their active mind on the present, view their experiences in a non-judgmental manner and become more aware of how the body responds to our thoughts. By becoming mindful of the present she believes that we can learn to manage our stress and reduce anxiety in our busy lives.
In addition, Lisa enjoys working with clients from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, including those suffering from chronic or acute illness. With a particular interest in psychosocial oncology, Lisa welcomes clients who are currently diagnosed with cancer or may be supporting a family member with cancer.
Lisa has completed her MA in Counselling Psychology and is nearing completion of her PhD in Psychology with a concentration in mind/body medicine from Saybrook University in San Francisco, California.
