Mandy Holowachuck is a Registered Psychologist, with a Master’s Degree in Counselling from Gonzaga University. She has also received additional training in areas related to children and adolescents. Mandy is grounded in the theory of attachment and relies on current research in attachment and development to guide her practice. Her counselling approach is creative and playful, incorporating emotions, the body, the brain and relationships within an attachment and developmental framework. Mandy incorporates skills and techniques such as psychoeducation, theraplay, expressive art therapies, bibliotherapy, parent training and other modalities that promote growth and healthy development.
Mandy is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and their families. She combines the theory of attachment with solution-focused techniques to provide goal-oriented change, which ultimately leads to healthier relationships. She believes that all people are striving to create positive and loving connections with others. However, sometimes people’s best intentions or behavior’s get in the way of relationships, which can cause emotional deregulation, isolation, sadness and troubling behavior’s. Partners can also find themselves gradually growing away from loved ones. With small tweaks we can rebuild and maintain these healthy relationships.
During sessions, Mandy works with clients using various activities in order to help clients actually experience the different emotions associated with a safe and secure relationship. The goal is for clients to walk away feeling comfort, pleasure, and peace.
Mandy is not taking clients at this time. Please contact the office to speak with someone about alternative options.
